In Reply To Difference between ASH spec ECU and JWT ECU? posted by 300zx16mano on April 22, 2004 at 11:36 AM

Message not been on here enough to know that this is a long-standing debate on this forum. larryb put it best when he said that none of the aftermarket ECU's make more power, but they provide you with the ability to safely turn up boost pressures to make more power.

You should do an in-depth search on this forum (using the keywords in your subject heading). In the end, you will have to make up your own mind. For the most part, the JWT is plug and play with little need to tune (timing, fuel, etc), while the ASH ecu has the potential to run higher boost pressures (hence, more power), but it would be wise to have timing and fuel tuned to be sure you are not exceeding the limits.

By the way, *technically* your car is not at stage III with the mods listed in your profile (especially if you still have the factory ECU).

There's a lot of material to read about in this forum on this subject, so be sure to go through it as thoroughly as possible.

Good luck,

Dave N
